A Real-Time Markerless Augmented Reality Framework Based on SLAM Technique

We design a markerless AR framework that simultanesously considers mobility, accuracy, and computation complexity. The proposed AR framework can achieve real-time 3D environment reconstruction by using a mobile device equipped with a depth camera and IMUs. We further design an AR game based on the Unity3D engine to validate the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed markerless AR framework, which successfully improves the game experience .

Nowadays, Air Pollution is becoming a serious issue around the world. Even WHO list Air Pollution to a major carcinogens, it will cause persons suffered from lung cancer more easier than secondhand smoke, especially PM2.5. PM2.5 affects people’s health worse and worse. No doubt that PM2.5 is a health killer in the world. So we make an equipment which can detect PM2.5 immediate and can easy to carry on people! This carriage device only with 5.8cm longs, 5.2 width and 3.4cm tall. This carriage monitor not only can detect PM2.5 around you but also can transfer PM2.5 data onto your cell phone. No matter what are you do and where are you going, this device can immediate to tell you the PM2.5 concentration of you, moreover, if you are too busy to open your phone, our App will vibration automatically to warn you are around bad environment. We also use the advantage of people can bring carriage box move everywhere, and make a participatory sensing network! This not only can not only can detect PM2.5 data anywhere but also can share the data to everyone even you don’t have device to detect environment info around you.

We make two projects about mutual cooperation and group elders, while in this modern and busy world, sometime it's hard to find suitable person to help when someone is in urgent need. So we develop a system that help someone who is in urgent need to match with the person who is willing to help others. On the other hand, elders usually idling at home, then we have another system which elders can initiate a upcoming event and then others who are interesting in the event can sign up, finally they can attend the event to develop the relationship with other elders.

Photo Assistant: High-level Semantic Photographic Composition Analysis System

In order to take better photos, it is a fundamental step for the beginners of photography to learn basic photo composition rules. However, there are no tools developed to help beginners analyze the composition rules in given photos. Thus, in this study we developed a system with the capability to identify 12 common composition rules in a photo. In particular, we utilized machine learning technology to extract high-level semantic features for facilitating the further analysis of photo composition rules. The representative features of each composition rule were further visualized in our system. The results showed the feasibility of the proposed system and revealed the possibility of using this system to assist potential users to improve their photographical skills and expertise.
